Latest News...

This is where you will find links to the latest news items for Central Coast Rugby League in general. Be sure to keep an eye on this area so you don't miss out on the latest news items!

Every week, hundreds of thousands of grassroots players, coaches, and volunteers head to local grounds across Australia to play and participate in the game that we all love – Rugby League.

The NRL, together with State Leagues and NRL Clubs, are committed to ensuring a safe environment for all players and have developed a series of videos aimed at reminding people that at the end of the day Rugby League is simply a game, to be enjoyed and respected by all.

The first story focuses on coach behaviour towards the game’s match officials. This short and light hearted clip asks our coaches to put themselves in the shoes of our hardworking referees. It serves as a reminder to all our coaches that while it is nice to come home with a win to our Junior League players, having fun with their teammates is the most important aspect of the game.

To view the videos and for more information on the game’s Code of Conduct, head to www.playnrl.com.

The federal government will soon reopen the Stronger Communities Programme (SCP) which provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 to community organisations and local governments for capital projects.

Program details:

-          In the 2017 Budget the Australian Government committed $22.5 million for a third round of the Stronger Communities Programme.

-          Funding of up to $150,000 in each Federal Electorate will be available in 2017-18.

-          Applicants are required to match the SCP grant in cash or in-kind on at least a dollar for dollar basis, with community input a key element of the programme.

-          Projects are selected by Members of Parliament (MPs) and their community consultation committees, and are then submitted to the Government for assessment so please ensure our clubs are in close contact with their local MP’s. Applicants will be invited to apply by MPs following community consultation.

-          Applications for round three will open on 7 August 2017 so there is some time to prepare and meet with MP’s. We should encourage any clubs applying for the state government Community Building Partnership Program to apply for this as well.

-          Guidance materials including the Programme Guidelines are available on the www.business.gov.au/scp web page

-          Applications will close 28 September 2017 5:00 pm AEST
